Love of Leadership – Why I’m talking here

I am planning to make some posts and resources about creating organizations and developing leadership. My intention is to have this post as a reference for why I’m writing about leadership and my credentials to do so.

Leadership particularly in Pagan and Heathen communities is a passion of mine. There are so many reasons for choosing to invest myself in the pursuit of leadership. I know what a difference good leadership makes. My life has changed for the better due to working with good leaders and organizations with good leadership. I have studied to become someone who can help others and pass those positive experiences forward.

When I start to explain my leadership experience I feel like I’m spouting a mead hall boast. Imposter syndrome gets me sometimes and I wonder “Who am I to be telling others how to organize and lead?” The truth is I have quite a bit of leadership experience both in and out of the pagan community. So to quiet my inner critic and give any readers context, let me provide an abbreviated leadership resume

Prior to college I held a number of leadership positions in my church starting at age 12 as the president of the girls 12-14 age group. I help president and assistant positions as a moved age groups and later sat on a youth council to help in organizing youth conferences and large events for my region. Served as a camp councilor & cabin leader.

Degrees and years of experience aren’t required to be a good leader but I hope to share the knowledge I have through my experience and education to help empower others. Good leaders empower those they follow and help to create more leaders.
