Circle of Frith: A Devotion to Frigg and Her Handmaidens
A book I would personally recommend to anyone interested in getting to know the Norse goddess Frigg. I ran a bi-weekly book club over this book and the experience and the book itself have definitely had an impact on my practice.
The poems, songs and devotionals are beautiful and moving. The rituals are written with precise details making them accessible even for beginners.
Many books on heathenry have a highly academic tone, they may be brimming with knowledge but can be a chore to read. Durkan’s writing is very approachable, one chapter has a more scholarly tone but its a brief section so it doesn’t detract from the enjoyability of the book itself. She also is clear to delineate her UPG from historic contexts and common practices. There is no attempt to insist on only one right way to practice.
