Invocation of Sif

A simple invocation of kennings for the goddess Sif.

Golden wife of Thunder, 

Queen of Stormbright Hall,

We call to thee.

Hallower of the harvest, 

Cup-Bearer, Peaceweaver,

We call to thee.

Goddess of kith and kin,

Dream diviner, Light of the summer,

We call to thee

Oh Beautiful Sif

Golden as grain with sun in your hair.

We call to thee.

This is my modern interpretation of the goddess Sif. My personal gnosis stays fairly close to the historic accounts of Sif as a lovely young goddess with long golden hair.

Her style in this picture is largely UPG, I personally envision her with a kind and fairly carefree demeanor, tinged with sadness. She loves to enjoy the sun in the garden to help warm away the sadness.

Sif is survivor of Loki’s cruelty, and her experiences with him left an enduring impression. A large part of my connection with Sif is my own experiences with Loki and those who honor him along with my gnosis around this myth.
