Bone Broth Healing Spell

A friend of mine was sick just as I was working on writing a spell for the magic module of my clergy program. I decided to put words to the kitchen magic I had already planned and worked into the soup I was making, creating a bone broth healing spell.

Healing as a kitchen witch is about intent, imagination, and ingredients. The spell can be written and placed under a bowl or pot of broth. It can be spoken over broth/soup, stirring clockwise while heating. Best case it can be used as an incantation while preparing homemade bone broth.
Recipe suggestions below.

Bone broth spell
Root, stalk, and bulb.
Nourish, grow and cleanse.
Muscle, marrow, and bone.
Rest, soothe, and strengthen.
Leaf, clove, and stem.

Hearth fires burn to bring healing and hope
Simmer to soothe and to strengthen
Drink to grow whole and healthy once more.

Bone broth healing spell

For aesthetic and spiritual reasons I wrote the spell out in a spiral. It addition to looking need the inward spiral helps to concentrate power and intent.

The last thing I added to my spell card is a bind rune for health and healing I used Uruz – Berkana – Jera

Bind rune using Uruz-Berkana-Jera

Uruz for physical strength and vitality.

Berkana for healing and cleansing.

Jera for harvest and growth

Jera may seem an odd addition but it felt fitting to draw on the strength of the plants used in the broth.

My finished written spell looked like this. After reading it over the broth I placed it under the mug like a coaster until it was gone.

Making broth from scratch

Broth is an easy thing to make even for those without any cooking experience. On the stove top
it can be a lot of time but just dump the ingredients into the pot and go about your day. It is
perfect to throw in a slow cooker or an instant pot.
There are plenty of recipes and instructions online for the spell above I would recommend the
ingredients it references.
Rosemary including wood steams, Bay leaf, Garlic, Carrots, Celery, Onion & Finally
Chicken***
Toss everything into the pot and barely cover with cold water and place over heat.
On the stove 3-4 hr of simmering
Crockpot ~6hrs on high
Instant pot ~ 1.5 hrs on high pressure
Add salt at the end.

For chicken bone-in skin on leg quarters are the cheapest and offer a big nutritional bang. Neck
and back are excellent but can be hard to come by unless you save bones and trimmings from
whole chickens. Sometimes a local butcher will have them especially if you call and give them a
day. Other herbs and seasonings are welcome I like to add peppercorns, thyme and sage
When using chicken thighs I like to remove them after ~30 mins of simmering or ~20in the
instant pot . I allow them to cool then shred the meat and throw the bones and skin back in.
